Each of the vocal grade books is available in two versions, either for high voice or for medium/low voice. There is no requirement to select repertoire exclusively from a single volume. Candidates are free to select music in the keys they feel best suit them.A number of works are presented in three keys, with multiple keys being given in the medium/low volume.
The grade books are enhanced by the addition of performance notes. All technical work requirements for Level 1 are contained within the grade books. Technical work for Level 2 exams ae available in a separate book, Singing Technical Work:Level 2.
IPA phonetic transcriptions of the German and Italian texts are also included from Second Grade onwards.
